Female Asses are Mysterious…

Female asses are mysterious creatures. They come and go as they please and much of their behavior seems unfathomable to an outsider.
No, I am not saying that. This is what David Attenborugh says about one of the interesting species inhabiting Tibetan plateau. I finally finished watching all five DVDs of Planet Earth - The [...]

Congratulations, Al Gore!

Apple.com has Al Gore on its frontpage today. No, he’s not on frontpage because he’s one of the directors of Apple’s board. Al Gore is the co-recipient of this year’s Nobel peace prize which was announced earlier today. Congratulations, Al Gore. You certainly deserve this award more than Henry Kissinger did when he was given [...]

If you must eat at Burger King, there is a healthy alternative to the soda that comes with value meal: Water. Yes, H2O. Although we do not see it in the menu, we can still say “meal number 9 with water, please” when placing the order to get a bottle of cold water with the [...]

The Last One On iPod Bandwagon: Me

Never thought I would own an iPod. Reason? Simple. I never felt the need for a portable music player, let alone an iPod. I listen to music at home on my home stereo system. When I am at work, the rare occasion that I listen to something is on my computer. My local (news) [...]

Another Mel Gibson Film

Having liked Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, I couldn’t wait to see his hugely successful directorial effort, The Passion of the Christ. Just saw it on DVD. Not trained in religious matters, I can’t speak for the authenticity of what was shown in the movie but I give high marks to makeup/visual effects teams. Absolutely top quality [...]

Apocalypto Adventure. Wow!

Just finished watching Apocalypto, wide-screen edition. It is superb visually. Beauty and brutality splendidly captured. An admirable adventure movie. It kinda reminded me of Rambo. Of course there is more to this movie than just the visuals and action. To enjoy this fine film Mel Gibson produced/directed, one has to forget (at least while watching [...]

No iPhone but My Vista PC is Cool

Before I get hit by flaming apples, let me try to explain. When I posted Can’t Vista? Keep XP. Or, Move to Ubuntu, little did I know that I would very soon embark on building a PC to run Windows Vista. In fact, my blog post kinda motivated me to do it sooner than I [...]

IKEA recycles our light bulbs

Noticed this recylce bin near IKEA’s exchange/returns section. It takes paper, plastic, light bulbs and batteries. Finally got to recycle about ten light bulbs that I set aside looking for a place to recycle them. Replaced all incandescent bulbs at home with Philips Marathon 20W compact fluorescent light bulbs. They say longer-lasting, energy-efficient compact fluorescent [...]
