Windows 7 Install Easier than Expected

Two years back I assembled a computer and installed Windows Vista on it. My Vista PC is still performing like a champ. Although I have been working on various versions of Unix (SunOS, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux, etc.) to make my living, I have been using Windows at home since I bought my very own [...]

Yahoo! – Microsoft Finally Over?

When acquisition rumors were just getting started, Yahoo! was wildly promoting IE7 (even to Firefox users on Linux). What have you seen on Yahoo!’s frontpage lately? Can’t Vista? Keep XP. Or, Move to Ubuntu.

My laptop, which is a little over three years old, can’t be upgraded to Windows Vista. I mean, its hardware is inadequate to run Vista (says Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor). I run both Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu on this laptop and I am happy with it. I don’t see why I should get rid [...]
