Ubuntu Installed on ThinkPad X31
Installed Ubuntu on my laptop, ThinkPad X31. As far as I am concerned, this has to be the easiest install of a linux distro ever. Now that I am a happy camper in Ubuntu land, I would like to share how easy it is to install Ubuntu. I can’t wait to tell my coworkers about this tomorrow. It is easy to install and is a cool collection of software. Thanks, Ubuntu, now I am unstuck from RedHat/Fedora Core.
(Dec 23, 2006) Update: As can be expected, there are other blog posts on Ubuntu as well.

Which laptop are you speaking of?
The Thinkpad x31. Yes, it can run Vista, actually as well as it ran XP, needs a little help with the drivers. If this is your problem, would be glad to assist.

Yes, ThinkPad X31. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor said I can’t upgrade to Vista. I didn’t even try to upgrade this laptop to Vista. I don’t intend to. Instead, I built My Vista PC.
Thanks for your offer to help.
